life.
The group was founded by Steve Gleason, a former
NFL player who was on special teams for the New Orleans Saints. Gleason was
diagnosed with ALS in 2011 after he had been out of the NFL for almost three
years. Gleason, whose professional sports career was always highlighted with a
history of philanthropy, was responsible for starting the One Sweet World Foundation
while still in the NFL.
Now with the support of people like Michael W
LeRoy, The Gleason Initiative has become a symbol of hope for those struggling
with neuromuscular diseases.
